Jang-Chun (장천 Jangcheon) was a former general of the Bairong Empire as well as the original Xing Bairong's teacher and servant. He was also a member of the former Three Noble Families, Long Clan and most likely the Clan Head during his time.

Jang-Chun is an old man with grey hair tied together behind his head and beard. His most notable feature is his scar across his left eye.

Jang-Chun is a loyal and noble fighter who believes strongly in improving his country without bloodshed and the prosperity of Xing.

Four years before the main story line, Jang was teaching Xing elements of chi manipulation, making him constantly repeat exercises after Xing was unable to complete them. When questioned by Eunwon about why he does this, Jang states his belief in Xing.

Jang is next seen at the Dragon Ritual Ceremony holding the flag with the Chinese character meaning 'star' (pronounced Xing) behind Xing.

Jang and his military arts priests followed Yue until he reveals his awareness of their presence. Jang with his mask on approaches Yue, only to have Yue body slam him with Shinchuk. Jang managed to block his attack but half of his mask shattered from the impact. Jang and his men fought with Yue until they were all defeated by the prince. Lying on the ground defenseless, Jang tells Yue to kill him, but Yue is unwilling to do so. Out of nowhere flies a sword, impaling Jang's chest. He looks at his killer, Eunwon and utters 'you' with his last breath.

Powers and AbilitiesEdit

Being a former general as well as a member of the Three Noble Families, Jang-Chun has great skill over his chi. He has been noted to be much stronger than a group of elite assassin such as a Night Crow.

Chi Techniques: Being one of the trainers of the Bairong princes, Jang would be one of the most proficient chi users among non-royals. He has mastered both Shinbo and Shinchuk.

  • Shinbo (신보 Sinbo; Release): The first stage of Chi control. It draws out a small amount of the user's Chi, and universally taught through the Bairong Empire. Xing has mastered this.
  • Shinchuk (신축 Sinchug; Elasticity): The second stage of Chi control. It draws out a maximum of 30% of the user's Chi, and is taught only to the highly skilled elites of the Bairong Empire.

Expert Hand to Hand Combatant: Trained in Bairong, Jang-Chun has learned and mastered many martial arts styles from the Bairong Empire.
